Letter to Families - Eid al-Fitr 2022
Dear parents and carers,
Eid al-Fitr, 2022
As the holy month is well underway, we wanted to get in touch and wish all our families who are participating in the observance a sincere Ramadan Mubarak! Secondly we wanted to confirm our expectations of attendance for the end of the month and give families an opportunity to get in contact if they have any questions or concerns.
As in previous years, we will support families by providing one day of authorised absence for religious observance. It looks like Eid will fall on Monday 2 May 2022 (which is a bank holiday) and will end at sundown on Tuesday 3 May 2022, so absence on Tuesday will be authorised.
We will expect all students to attend school for the rest of the week (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday). Year 11 and 13 students will need to catch up on any work missed in preparation for final exams.
Please get in touch with the Family Engagement Worker for your child’s year group if you have any questions or concerns (see below).
Year 10 and 11: Allison Bogle
Year 9 and 10: Gillian Hird
Year 7 and 8: Imran Jhangir
Thank you for your support, and when it arrives: Eid Mubarak to you and your family!
Yours sincerely,
Paul Hopkins
Assistant Headteacher
