At our last OFSTED the Sixth Form was judged GOOD overall, and we make year on year progress with our outcomes. We want more and more students seeing Sixth Form as their natural pathway for Post 16. We will achieve this by a “from primary to secondary” recruitment and retention strategy.

We believe that the Beckfoot Oakbank Sixth Form provide life changing opportunities for students and staff. A school sixth form is the beating heart of a school and its students and young adults our leaders of the future.

We have Clear evidence of the strong aspirational vision and this is communicated by all the sixth form team, underpinned by a clear focus on student attainment and personal development. High expectations from the sixth form team that are shared and understood – the team’s approach is very supportive, constructively self-critical and focused on the right priorities.

We offer a curriculum focused on establishing a range of pathways that are both aspirational and appropriate for students. School context is considered in terms of curriculum planning. Focus on raising attainment & greater enrichment evident in the number of external providers/opportunities and different routes to inspire and motivate student. Well supported by strong careers education with links created with Beckfoot Oakbank school and the careers advisor assigned to the school.
