Onward Bound Ullswater Residential

This week, a group of our students have been making the most of an unforgettable enrichment experience in the stunning surroundings of Ullswater in the Lake District. Their packed and challenging itinerary, the residential has tested their resilience, strengthened their teamwork, and supported their personal growth.

Arriving on Monday, the group jumped straight into their first adventure with the traditional “jog and dip” in the lake. With plenty of encouragement, and a sprint down the jetty for some extra momentum, our students embraced the cold water and kicked off the week with great enthusiasm and team spirit.

Tuesday brought preparation begin for a demanding six hour hike through the fells. Despite being met with sideways rains and strong winds, our students showed remarkable perseverance, pushing through the elements with determination and positivity.

Wednesday’ adventure took students even higher, as they summitted the Sandle Seat to see the iconic views of of Helvellyn and Scafell Pike. The teamwork and encouragement on display throughout the climb were exceptional, and staff were incredibly proud to see students supporting one another with such maturity and care.

With more outdoor challenges and adventure to come, we’re excited to hear more from the group as they continue their journey.

This residential is a valuable opportunity for students to build their confidence, work collaboratively, and develop life skills in a unique and inspiring setting. We are so proud of how they have embraced every challenge with courage, enthusiasm, and a true sense of community.
