Personal Development
While your academic success and development are of paramount importance to us, we also want our Sixth Form to present you with life changing opportunities and personal development.
Applying for Beckfoot Oakbank Sixth Form
Our Sixth Form Open Evening takes place in December. In addition, we host three further open evenings between February and June, giving external applicants multiple opportunities to visit the Sixth Form, explore our facilities and meet our team.
In February our internal students will have the opportunity to attend our Sixth Form Taster Day, where they can sample lessons and gain a real insight into what studying in Sixth Form is like.
These events are a fantastic opportunity to experience life in our Sixth Form, meet our exceptional teachers and speak with our expert Sixth Form team. Current students will also be available to share their experiences and discuss the subjects they are studying.
Applications close two weeks after the December Open Evening. Following the application deadline, all applicants will be invited to attend an interview between January and June with a member of the School’s Leadership / Sixth Form team.
External applicants can request an application form by emailing Mrs Ellis- [email protected]. Applications must be received by the published deadline. References will be requested from the applicant’s current school. Once this has been received, applicants will be invited to visit the school, meet with the Sixth Form team and discuss their application.
All students must complete their enrolment on GCSE results day in August. External applicants must bring with them their GCSE results and a form of ID (birth certificate or passport).

Our 16-19 Bursary
At Beckfoot Oakbank Sixth Form, we are committed to ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder any student’s ability to participate fully in Sixth Form education. To support this, we offer financial assistance to overcome financial barriers so that students can focus on achieving their goals. Entry Requirements
The entry requirements to our courses are non-negotiable and are strictly adhered to when determining whether we will accept a student onto a course. Our subjects require a minimum class size to run, and class sizes are set appropriately for the nature of the subject. Click HERE to view our specific entry requirements.
