Head of School Update
As you’ll see from the updates below, our Year 11 and Year 13 students are now just a small number of examinations away from the end of what has been a long and demanding exam season. I want to take a moment to say how incredibly proud we are of the way they have conducted themselves over the past four to five weeks. Their resilience, focus and maturity have been exemplary. The finish line is now in sight, and it is an exciting time—but also one where we encourage them to keep going and finish strongly.
Across the rest of the school, it is very much assessment season. Our Year 10 students began their mock examinations this week, an important opportunity to experience formal exam conditions and build confidence ahead of next year. Once again, we have been really impressed with how they have approached this, both in terms of their conduct and their commitment to doing their very best.
You will also see in this edition that we continue to celebrate the fantastic achievements of our students beyond the classroom, particularly in sport and other activities outside of school. We always enjoy recognising these moments, so please do let us know if your son or daughter has something we can celebrate—these successes are very much part of what makes our community so special.
Finally, I would like to thank you for your support with attendance. Last week was a record-breaking one in many ways, and that is down to your commitment in ensuring your child attends school every day. It really does make a difference, and we want to see every student in school, every day, learning and thriving. Please do keep this going.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Year 7 have started the final term so positively. Our attendance is currently in the 90-94% and we would love to get to.
Archie D in Year 7 has shown amazing determination and has been selected for Swim England after completing a Triathlon earlier in the term. He had his first competition last week. Well done, Archie! Keep up the hard work.
Year 8 News
Year 8 have focused on their end of year assessments and signing up for the upcoming sports day over the last few weeks. They have responded well to minor changes in their day to support the older students complete GCSE’s and mock examinations and this has allowed them to see the changes they will experience when it is their turn.
Attendance has improved after a recent dip and once again the year group are typically above 90% every day. Several learners have been given the opportunity to attend Bradford University for the day the week after next to see what higher learning can offer and what a university looks like. This is the start of our careers offering that your child will begin to experience next year as they move into Year 9, so this summer would be a great opportunity to chat to them about their ambitions so they can access the guidance offered by school next year.
There are a number of trips and reward sessions that will be planned for the next few weeks, please keep checking your child’s ClassCharts record as we will be sending permission slips via the app.

Huge congratulations to Arley G who placed in the Top 16 at the PDC (JDC) Junior Darts National Foundation Tour in Chester recently. With an impressive 268 players competing from across the UK, this is a fantastic achievement. Arley even narrowly missed a double that would have taken him into the Top 8. To top it all off, he also hit the highest checkout of the weekend with an incredible “Big Fish” (170) What an achievement—well done, Arley!
Well done to Ollie B who also took part and again represented himself very well.
Bronen D recently signed a two year contract with Bradford City. Bronen is a talented attacking player who also represents the Year 9 school team. This is a fantastic opportunity for Bronen and a very exciting one!
Congratulations also go to two of Keighley Albion’s rising stars – Riley B has signed a scholarship with Leeds Rhinos and Zack C has signed a scholarship with Wigan Warriors! Well done to you both on your exciting opportunity.
We also have a girls netball team who are participating in fixtures at local schools.

Post 16 News
Our Year 12 students recently took part in a series of taster sessions delivered by the University of Bradford, exploring a range of career-related subjects including Forensics, Public Health, Law, Computer Science and Physiotherapy. These sessions provided valuable insight into potential future pathways and will help students who are beginning to consider their next steps. This experience followed a highly successful week of work placements, where students gained hands-on experience in a variety of settings such as pharmacies, veterinary practices, estate agents and solicitors’ offices. Together, these opportunities have been instrumental in preparing students as we move into the next stage of the term and begin the process of UCAS applications.
On Monday, we will also be celebrating the end of our Year 13 students’ time with us. It has been a truly rewarding journey, and we are incredibly proud to have been part of their lives. We wish them every success for the future and have no doubt that they will go on to achieve great things.
Reminders for those still to sign up to the Year 13 leavers’ meal, taking place on Friday 19th June, this can be booked via ParentPay.

We are also looking forward to our upcoming trip to Yorkshire Wildlife Park next week, please remember that the bus will be leaving promptly at 8:20am, and if the weather is warm, students should bring hats and sun cream.
Year 11 have been embracing the challenge of their exams, and it has been wonderful to see one of our students even staying behind after her exams to support younger groups. Meanwhile, Year 10 have begun their mock exams and are trying extremely hard, we are very proud of their effort and commitment.
