Health and Social Care at Beckfoot Oakbank
We create lessons that provide specialist knowledge of the health and social care sectors.
Students will understand and be able to apply the fundamental principles and concepts of the rights of individuals, person-centred values, effective communication and how to protect individuals in health and social care settings.
Health and social care is a remarkable subject to develop cognitive and problem-solving skills, as students will practice and expand on their interpersonal skills as they accurately apply their knowledge to the health and social care sector. Students will learn to critically analyse and evaluate information showing logical reasoning towards solutions.
Enrichment
Outside of their lessons, students have access to a variety of enrichment activities. These include:
- Design Technology Club
- Cultural capital embedded in the scheme of work
- Access to industry standard software
- Trips and visits
Assessment
Formative assessment, mid-point and end point assessments will take place throughout each year to monitor pupil progress and further inform teaching and learning.
