Dear Parent/Carer 

 

With GCSE examinations starting next week I wanted to share with you a few logistics during this exam period.  

 

Starting from next week, Year 11 students will be either completing their examinations, or attending their timetabled lessons. There are examinations for most of the subjects students are studying, therefore in lessons time will be spent working on crucial exam technique in preparation for the upcoming exams in these subjects. There will be a small minority of coursework-based subjects where the work has been completed, in these lessons students will be directed to revise for examinations in other subjects, a purposeful and meaningful working environment will be maintained. 

 

Afterschool, on the eve of an exam, staff will be running masterclass sessions for pupils to attend, it will be an opportunity for students to go through some last-minute revision with their teacher; these sessions will run from 2:40pm-3:30pm and all are welcome.

 

The year 11 cohort having been working so hard in the run up to these exams, we are extremely proud of them. Staff know the group will go into their exams and will be able to demonstrate all this hard work. We wish all of them the best of luck and they know they have a strong support network in school to provide help or guidance where necessary.

 

I will be in touch before half term to provide further communication for the end of year arrangements.
